We have successfully completed the 4th East-Asia Microscopy Conference (EAMC4) from December 03-05, 2022. This meeting is the “Fourth” international meeting on microscopy in East Asia under the auspice of IFSM (International Federation of Societies for Microscopy) and CAPSM (Committee for Asia-Pacific Societies of Microscopy).
Due to the global concern around COVID-19 and entry restrictions for foreigners to Taiwan, EAMC4 was held in a hybrid format:
(1). On December 03, 2022, the in-person conference was held at the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. The first-day event featured live sessions, including 1 plenary speaker, 5 invited speakers, 64 poster presentations, and 13 photo contest presentations from Taiwan attendees.
(2). On December 04-05, 2022, the EAMC4 held a virtual conference with a pre-recorded video presentation on-demand, including 4 main sessions, 5 plenary speakers, 3 keynote speakers, 25 invited speakers, 42 oral presentations, and 18 poster presentations from oversea attendees.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee of EAMC4, we would like to express our deep appreciation for the enormous efforts made by the Microscopy Society of Taiwan (MST), Japanese Society of Microscopy (JSM), Korean Society of Microscopy (KSM) and Chinese Electron Microscopy Society (CEMS), and We also acknowledge gratefully the support for the exhibition of microscope manufacture companies such as JEOL, Zeiss, ThermoFisher, MA-tek, PENTAD, Oxford Instruments, Hitachi, TA instruments, Protochips, Nano MEGAS, CAMECA, ITRI, Taipei City Government, NSTC and NTU. Finally, we would express our thanks to all of the participants and cooperative organizations in Taipei, Taiwan.
